Miscellaneous

Just a few notes about this website:

1. The Vonnegut bibliography chart on the first page is property of Wikipedia.

2. The publishing information posted under each one of Vonnegut's works is not the only available copy or edition. There are many many printings for his books and I simply included information about the most popular edition (according to Amazon).

3. I chose not to write summaries for Vonnegut's works because I felt that summarizing his novels was not nearly as important as summarizing the works written about him and his works. Making distinctions between the works written about Vonnegut's life is crucial in order to understand what resources are available out there. Hopefully it will also provide you with more incentive to read all his works :) If you are truly devastated that I haven't provided you with the cheat sheet or cliff notes on his writing then you can always check out the electronic references provided, some of them contain short summaries of his novels, autobiographical pieces, and poems.

4. There are many more ways to research this topic. It's not all reading and viewing. Take a tour of Kurt Vonnegut's childhood home, visit the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library, or wander around Camp Atterbury to get a feel of what it would have been like in boot camp before being shipped off to fight in World War II. There are also many resources I didn't compile such as the history of the Vonnegut family business, Vonnegut yearbooks and high school newspapers. The list of what is still out there is extensive. I just compiled what I believed to be the most crucial information regarding Kurt Vonnegut's life and writings. Many other angles can be researched and explored.

5. I am not a website genie, the site is simple yet functional. If I had more talent I would have jazzed it up a little more and perhaps added a gallery of Vonnegut's drawings and photographs.
